Do I have to be careful about staining my new veneers?
Porcelain is very resistant to staining agents. To keep them looking brilliant for years to come, Dr. Lachot and Dr. Loo recommend that you limit your exposure to staining agents like wine and tea, and make sure to brush after eating or drinking such substances. Also, we recommend that you refrain from smoking.
Can I use my new veneers to chew normally?
Absolutely. Porcelain, although fragile alone, is bonded strongly to enamel for very tough, functional use. You can eat all the foods you did before the veneers. However, veneers are as vulnerable as natural teeth to certain materials, so it is important to avoid especially hard substances that could cause breakage, and to avoid using your teeth to open containers.
How many of my teeth will need veneers?
Generally, for a natural result, patients will choose to veneer the most visible front teeth on the top and bottom. Whichever teeth you see when you smile are usually the ones that benefit from veneer placement. Dr. Lachot or Dr. Loo can help you answer this question during your complimentary veneer consultation.
Are porcelain veneers expensive? At the Scottsdale office of Dr. Lachot and Dr. Loo, we believe in making dental enhancements affordable to all our patients. You should view a porcelain veneer treatment as a personal investment - when your smile looks better, you feel better and have improved self-confidence. While this benefit is priceless, we strive to keep our treatments affordable while offering a variety of payment options. We also offer financing for qualified patients to help defer costs.
